The “Tom Souville” room

History

This room is named after Tom Souville, nicknamed “Cap’tain Tom” by the English, who was born in Calais in 1777 and died in the same city in 1839. This Calais privateer was one of the most illustrious figures in the privateering system, which was of significant financial importance at the time.

The bedroom

The unusual atmosphere of this “box,” located on the second floor, has a “boat” theme with its wooden floor and ceiling, the colors of the Calais flag (blue and white), and original furniture such as the queen-size headboard, which is made from different boat oars crafted from different types of wood such as oak, ash, and sapele.
The shutters, which are made from the same types of wood and installed like portholes on a boat, allow you to sleep peacefully.
This room includes a magnificent open bathroom, equipped with a large wood-colored shower, a river stone sink, and a separate toilet hidden in the closet, giving this room its exceptional character.

You can relax during your evenings by taking a seat in one of the two marine-style armchairs by the window, where you can enjoy the superb view of the Theater and the Belfry of Calais.

The desk and flat-screen TV, both hidden in another closet, as well as unlimited WiFi, provide you with all the comforts you need.
